Is the London Dungeon really scary?
It’s very entertaining but scary. I was braver after the boat ride. Much more scary than The Edinburgh Dungeon. So, not wishing to start a war between the different Dungeon experiences around the UK, but my 10 year old says The London Dungeon is the most scary.
What age is the London Dungeon suitable for?
The recommended age for The London Dungeon is 12 years and above, however it is up to the discretion of the accompanying adult. Many children enter The London Dungeon and enjoy the experience, but please be aware it does get very dark inside the building and there are lots of loud noises.

Is the London Dungeon any good?
Re: Is the London Dungeon worth it? In a word: no. There are many, many more places in London that fit the bill for “entertaining and educational” – three days isn’t very long in a city like London and the dungeon would almost certainly not be a good way to spend some of that time.
Are there real rats in the London Dungeon?
We do have real rats at The London Dungeon, however they live in their very own customised rat house, so you can look at them without having to come into contact with them.
What happens at London Dungeons?
The London Dungeon experience is an approximately 90-minute walk through the various attractions. You’ll see dungeons, experience highlights (or lowlights) of London’s history through exceptional stages and special effects experiences. You will be part of a group moving from show to show, guided by professional actors.
Is London Dungeon good for adults?
London Dungeon I believe is slightly less scary and suitable for families and children. However as an adult you still will enjoy it. It’s better to go as a group/team so you yourself can joke with each other and make the atmosphere funny and scary.
What age is Shrek adventure for?
Shrek’s Adventure is suitable for all ages, afterall Shrek is a family-ogre! Please note, children under the age of 3 go free but we do advise that the attraction is most suitable for children aged 6 and over.

Has the London Dungeon moved? The London Dungeon was founded in 1976 by Annabel Geddes. In 2013, the London Dungeon moved from its premises of 39 years in Tooley Street, to County Hall, South Bank, to be grouped with other Merlin-owned attractions such as the London Eye.

Are dungeons scary?
The York Dungeon is full of scary fun for everyone except very young guests and wimps! It does get very dark inside and there are lots of loud noises. Please be aware if you need to leave the attraction during a tour, unfortunately your ticket/s will be non-refundable.
